Biography:
Robyn Gibbes was born in New Guinea in January 1957.
She started acting as a teenager and her first big role was Angela Flemming
in the movie “Gone To Ground”, in which she got to work with the great
australian actor Charles Tingwell.
Afterwards Robyn had a few guestroles in teen-shows such as
“Glenview High” and “The Restless Years”. In the 80s she raised her
fame and appeared in a lot of well-known australian shows and movies.
In 1982 Robyn starred in “Wild Horses”, which was a drama shot in the
countryside of New Zealand. Two years later Robyn played in
“I Live With Me Dad”, where she met Rebecca Gibney, who became
one of her best friends.
In the same year she switched sides in filmbusiness and started working
as casting consultant.
But this didn´t mean that Robyn wasn´t acting anymore. Actually she
usually did like about 2 or 3 movies a year. In 1989 Robyn landed the
role of Miss James, the Twists´ schoolteacher, in the children´s series
“Round The Twist”. This show was a huge hit and is cult television for
australian people. Through “Round The Twist”, Robyn got known by
thousands of kids around the world. And because of the popularity,
a second series of “Round The Twist”, was made three years later in 1992.
Besides those great projects, Robyn also had guestroles in "The Flying
Doctors", "All Together Now", "Phoenix" and "Ocean Girl".
In 1992 Rebecca Gibney married for the first time and Robyn was her
